Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Month at Assumption School
Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Month What is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month? AAPI month is to honor the history, culture, and significance contributions of Asian Americans, as well as Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islander, to the United States. It is important because it recognizes diverse communities spanning the entire Aisan continent and Pacific Islands. AAPI month commemorates the first Japanese immigrants arrival on May 7,1843 and completion of the transcontinental railroad by Chinese laborers on May 10, 1869.
