Work at Assumption School
Assumption School is led by Joseph Petersen, Principal. Our staff includes an Office Manager, Administrative Assistant, and Facilities Director.
We maintain a student-faculty ratio of approximately 12:1 in our lower grades and 28:1 in our upper grades. Teachers are represented in Music, Visual Arts, Physical Education, and Science. Our Transitional Kindergarten through Fifth Grade classrooms are self-contained. Our Junior High program is departmentalized with three homeroom teachers specializing in Math, English/Writing, and History. We have a fully staffed Extended Care program with a full-time Extended Care Director and part-time Extended Care Specialists. We also have part-time positions including a Librarian, JH Math Specialist, Technology Coordinator, Learning Services Coordinator, Reading Specialist, Counselor, and Instructional Assistants to assist all learners at all levels.

Assumption School is looking for qualified, caring individuals with an interest in Catholic education. Applicants for teaching positions are required to have advanced four-year degree. Teacher applicants with a California multiple-subject or single-subject credential are preferred. Applicants for our support staff must have a minimum of a high school diploma in most positions. All applicants must go through thorough background checks, fingerprinting, and reference checks.
