Volume 6/Issue 40 Assumption Life June 4, 2025
Our Mission
We are Assumption Catholic School, a ministry of the Church of the Assumption. As a diverse community, we excel in academics and model Christ where each individual is safe, nurtured, respected, and treasured.
Together we pray
Prayer for our 8th Grade Graduates
Loving and gracious God, Today we lift up our 8th grade graduates with grateful hearts. Thank You for guiding them through these formative years at Assumption School, where they have grown in knowledge, friendship, and faith.
As they step forward into a new chapter, we ask You to bless them abundantly. Fill their hearts with courage, hope, and joy. May they carry the lessons they have learned, of kindness, perseverance, and love, into the world, always remembering that they are never alone.
Help them to be a light to others, to stand for truth, and to serve with compassion. May they walk in the footsteps of Christ, trusting in Your plan and holding tight to the values rooted deeply here in our school community.
We pray for happiness, for wisdom, and for the peace that comes from knowing You.
In Your holy name we pray,
Amen
Together we can

GRADUATION
Graduation Ceremony
Graduation from elementary school is marked by a simple and dignified celebration that gives recognition to the unique value of the Christian education just completed. Graduation shall take place no earlier than the week preceding the closure of school.
Graduation Attire and Etiquette
Appropriate attire should be worn for the occasion: dress shirts, ties, and dress pants for boys; dress attire for girls is to be modest. Leis, balloons, and noisemakers are not permitted at the graduation liturgy or ceremony. Graduation gowns are rented by the school and must be returned at the end of the commencement ceremony in the school office.
Graduation Requirements
Eighth grade students must complete all academic requirements with a passing grade point average of 1.5 (70%) in seventh and eighth grades in order to receive a diploma from Assumption School. All fees must be paid, including tuition, extended care, family service, and fundraising, a week prior to the date of graduation in order for students to walk through the graduation ceremony or attend school-sponsored graduation events.

Dear Assumption School Families and Friends,
We are in the final weeks of school with Maycember finally ending last Friday. We loved May … there was just so much to celebrate and your schedules were probably a testament to that! I hope that June is a commencement of peace and rest.
Speaking of commencements, we celebrate the Commencement of our Class of 2025 tomorrow! As I reflect on this class’ journey through Assumption School and their final Rite of Passage presentations finished earlier this month, I think of a few important themes that speak to the mission of our school:
-
Each 8th grader mentioned that their parents and family were such an important part of their lives role modeling who they all hope to be in the future.
-
They mentioned that Assumption School was about important traditions and learning experiences that created a foundation for a love of learning. This includes their early learning days with teachers that made lasting memories like Mrs. Munoz or Mrs. Lobo (then Ms. Falleiro).
-
All our graduates plan to not just be a high school student but to be one that makes a difference, looking toward high school clubs and sports to be the focus of their student involvement. The importance of organized sports and time management seemed to be on their minds.
We celebrate this unforgettable Class of 2025 at their graduation Thursday (tomorrow):
Baccalaureate Mass - 8th grade

Hey, congrats! You got to the end. Way to go! Fun fact: Scientists estimate that 91 percent of ocean species have yet to be classified, and that more than eighty percent of our ocean is unmapped, unobserved, and unexplored.
