We are Assumption Catholic School, a ministry of the Church of the Assumption. As a diverse community, we excel in academics and model Christ where each individual is safe, nurtured, respected, and treasured.

Act Without Words
At times the most effective thing to do is keep your mouth shut and act.
1. Let kids know in advance what you are going to do.
2. Check that they understand by asking:
"What is your understanding of what I am going to do?"
3. Follow through by acting kindly and firmly without saying a word.
For example: Pull over if kids fight while you are driving. Read a book until they let you know they are ready.

Reminders:
Parents and other adults, please do not use the student bathrooms during school hours. If you are on campus and need to use the bathroom, come to the office for a key to use our adults-only bathroom by the front office.
Our tardy count for the first half of the second trimester is already matching our first trimester totals. Please remember to have students line up in their class lines by the 7:55 a.m. bell. Student social, emotional, and educational wellness begins with feeling ready and on time for school. Thank you for your support.
Finally, a quick reminder to send your children with a healthy snack and lunch each day. If your child orders Choice Lunch, please still pack a healthy snack for recess during the 10 a.m. hour. Choice Lunch delivery is not ready for students until our lunch time, so any extra snacks ordered through them would be added to their lunches.

Dear Families and Friends of Assumption School,
National Catholic Schools Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It begins this Sunday, January 28, and runs throughout the week. We are excited to celebrate in many ways each day of next week. The events will focus on the value Catholic education provides to our students and families as well as its contribution to our church and nation.
I personally invite all our families and friends to come to our Open House events on Sunday, January 28 to see the great work that we are doing in our classrooms. Please bring any prospective families and friends who are looking for a place to grow and learn for their students? Please see the schedule of events below:

- Family Mass at 10 a.m. – current school students wear their school uniform for a free dress pass (for a later date) and parent hour.
- Marnelle Vierra Ducey Scholarships announced at Mass
- Presentation of the Class of 2024
- Open House starting at 11:30 a.m. Prospective Parent Information Meeting in the Math Lab (Msgr. Lucid Learning Center) at 11:45 a.m. Student led tours start at noon.

- Lifelong Learner Day
- Higher Education Free Dress - wear university/college, high school, or Assumption School gear.
- Drop everything and read at 11 a.m. (Bring a book from home!)
