Volume 6/Issue 39 Assumption Life May 28, 2025
Our Mission
We are Assumption Catholic School, a ministry of the Church of the Assumption. As a diverse community, we excel in academics and model Christ where each individual is safe, nurtured, respected, and treasured.
Together we pray
As we prepare to inaugurate the members of our Student Leadership Team and Campus Ministry tomorrow, we offer this prayer for their year of service:
God of wisdom and light,
Thank You for the students who will lead our school in faith, spirit, and community. You have entrusted them with the responsibility to serve with compassion, integrity, and joy.
Bless each student as they step into this important role. Fill them with courage to lead, patience to listen, and a heart open to the needs of others. Strengthen the presidents of each team with clarity and grace as they guide their peers.
May all their efforts reflect the values of our Catholic community, and may they lead not for recognition, but to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Amen.
Please continue to keep Ms. Blum and her family in your prayers as they support a loved one through illness.
Together we can
Eye to Eye
It isn't respectful (and doesn't work) to sit on the couch and yell at your child from across the room.
1) Stop whatever you are doing. Get up and get close enough to your child to see his or her eyes.
2) You'll notice that you speak more softly when you make the respectful effort to see your child's eyes.
3) Model eye to eye in your adult relationships.
Virtue of the week
Sincerity, also known as: Genuineness
Definition of Sincerity: Trustfulness in words and actions; honesty and enthusiasm towards others
Prayer for Sincerity: Dear Jesus, please give me the grace to be honest in all my words and actions. When someone is speaking, give me the patience to listen attentively.
Sincerity Looks Like: Talking to others and letting them get to know you
Sincerity Sounds Like: Let me be honest with you... This is what I like...

Dear Family and Friends of Assumption School,
On Tuesday, the school enjoyed celebrating Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a visit from Patrick Landeza. Mr. Landeza, of Moreau Catholic High School, brought his love of music and faith to the students in addition to his love of his multicultural family connecting with our students in so many ways. Of course, Mr. Landeza comes to also invite our students to Moreau Catholic's Summer Programs where he is offering discounts to our families who register. See the link in today's Assumption Life here a ½ off discount could be given to four lucky registrants.
As we enter into the final weeks of school, I would like to thank our parent leaders and dedicated volunteers for a truly amazing year. This school is not led by one person but is a testament to the Catholic vision of service from all our shareholders.
Thank you so much to the volunteers and volunteer leaders of the following organizations or events that make our school amazing:
- School Board - executive board and committee leads and supporters
- Parent Teacher Group - executive board, hospitality, fundraising, volunteers, treasurers, teacher appreciation
- Room Parents
- Auction
- Festival
- Fun Run
- Dads Club
- The Foundation
- CYO Athletics
- AYSAT moderators
- Library helpers
- Classroom helpers
- Field Trip chaperones
- St. Nick Boutique
- International Day
- Scholastic Book Faire
- Parent Ambassadors
- Parish Pastoral Council
- Those amazing 8th grade parents who spent the last 9 years (give or take a few years) in our school and spend their student's last year planning and supporting events for 8th grade.
- and all the folks who see a need and fill a need for our school from a helping hand to snacks for the faculty to supporting in the best ways!
We look forward into the future where Together, anything is possible. We join the Parish in celebrating 75 years of building this community on faith, love, and service. This partnership, the one we see in the volunteers above and in the many ways our families and friends support our school and each other, make us truly who we are and model what we want our future. I am so grateful to our parent, alumni, and friend volunteer community for these efforts!
In God's Love,
Lana Rocheford
Principal
