Volume 4/Issue 24 Assumption Life
January 25, 2023
Our Mission
We are Assumption Catholic School, a ministry of the Church of the Assumption. As a diverse community, we excel in academics and model Christ where each individual is safe, nurtured, respected, and treasured.
Together we pray
God of Love and Mercy,
We know that you always are with us.
May we always carry the light of Christ in our hearts, in our minds and in our actions
And may Assumption School continue to be a place where we work as a community to help live the Gospel message; to love one another as you have loved us.
Amen.
Special intentions for the following families and friends of Assumption School and Parish: the Yang family, the Brehm family, the Lobo family, the McConnell family, the Munoz family, the Lopez family, long-time school friend and parishioner Toni Durden’s family, the Dorff family
Together we can
Make connections before correction
Creating a connection before correction is a great example of kindness and firmness.
- I love you and the answer is “no.”
- You are more important to me than your grades. I wonder what your grades mean to you?
- I love you and have faith that we can find a respectful solution.
- I know how much you want that, and I am sorry you can’t have it now.

Parent Hours Alert
SCHOOL SUNDAY MASS THIS SUNDAY:
If you attend any of our calendared Sunday school-sponsored Masses including OUR OPEN HOUSE SUNDAY (1/29/23) at 10 a.m. presenting our 8th Graders. If your students wear their school uniform (exceptions: 5th grade wear their Revolutionary War Costumes and 8th grade wear their Sunday best), you can earn a parent hour and your student earns a free dress for a LATER date. All are welcome.
How does it work:
- Plan to attend the 10 a.m. Mass in-person with your student in FULL UNIFORM.
- At the end of the Mass, look for a staff person (or Mrs. Rocheford) who will have Free Dress Passes to give to students.
- Place your LAST NAME and Grade(s) on the Free Dress Pass.
- The student turns in the free dress pass on the ASSIGNED SCHOOL MASS FREE DRESS DAY on the PASS to your students' teacher to count you as a family who participated. (only one hour per family not per student).
Small print: Only in-person school- or class-sponsored Assumption Parish Sunday Masses count toward service hours. Those masses are on our school calendar and are usually twice a month.
