Volume 7/Issue 21 Assumption Life January 7, 2026
Our Mission
We are Assumption Catholic School, a ministry of the Church of the Assumption. As a diverse community, we excel in academics and model Christ where each individual is safe, nurtured, respected, and treasured.
Together we pray
Loving God, As we begin this new year together, we give thanks for good health, renewed energy, and the blessing of our school community.
In this season of Epiphany, may the light that guided the Magi guide our classrooms, our homes, and our hearts. Help us see Your presence in one another and in the work we share each day.
We are grateful for the generosity and support shown throughout the Christmas season. As we step into 2026, renew our commitment to learn, serve, and grow together.
May our school be a place where Your light shines in kindness, compassion, and hope.
Amen.
Together we can
Sense of Humor
Humor can help parents and children lighten up.
1) Remember to laugh and have fun.
2) "Here comes the tickle monster to get kids who don't pick up toys."
3) When kids are fighting, gently tackle them and say, "Pig Pile!"
4) Be sensitive to times when humor is not appropriate.
Virtue of the month
Kindness
Definition of Kindness:
Expressing genuine concern about the well-being of others; anticipating their needs

Dear Assumption Families,
Welcome to the 2026 New Year! I hope your Christmas break was restful, joy-filled, and provided time for renewal with family and friends. We are grateful to begin this new year together as a school community.
We are also delighted to share some wonderful new beginnings within our staff family. Congratulations to Mrs. Sarullo on the birth of her baby, Joey, December 23 and to Mrs. Keeler on welcoming her newest daughter, Maeve born January 5 as well! We celebrate these blessings and hold both families in our prayers.
During Mrs. Sarullo’s maternity leave for the remainder of the school year, we are thrilled to welcome to TK Mrs. Romo and Ms. Eva as our Transitional Kindergarten teaching team, with Mrs. Castillo supporting them as Primary Level Lead. In addition, Ms. Davis will be providing support in Kindergarten and TK. Together, this experienced team brings a wealth of knowledge and care to our youngest learners. We are especially grateful to Mrs. Sarullo for her thoughtful preparation and planning, which has ensured a seamless transition for our TK students.
Looking ahead, I want to highlight two exciting and important community events:
-
CYO Crab Feed – This is truly one of the most fun and anticipated events of the year! Treat your family to an all-you-can-eat crab dinner, great company, and down-to-earth fun—all while supporting CYO sports at our parish. Tickets are on sale now, and purchasing early helps us secure the best crab in town. 🎟 Tickets available until January 17th. Get yours today! Purchase tickets here: https://family-crab-feed.square.site/
-
Annual Auction Gala (February) – One of our most important fundraisers and one of our most enjoyable events. We ask each family to contribute the equivalent of five or more hours toward the auction by:
More information can be found on the Auction website. Attending is even more fun when you make a night of it—there are still rooms available at our reserved DoubleTree hotel block. This is a 21+ event, and we encourage you to invite friends, prospective families, parishioners, and extended family members to join the fun.
Finally, we are happy to welcome four new students who joined us today: Freya, Isaac, Lincoln, and Tanner. We are so glad to have them and their families as part of our Assumption community. If you see some new faces on campus, please be sure to offer a warm Assumption hello!
Wishing you a joyful and hope-filled start to the new year.
Warmly, Lana Rocheford Principal

Parent/Student Handbook Corner
Handbook
FORGOTTEN ITEMS
Children are responsible for bringing assignments and supplies to class and therefore will not be allowed to use the school telephones to request that parents bring forgotten items. In the event that a parent needs to leave an item for a child, the item should be plainly marked with the child’s name and grade and must be left at the school office. Parents should NOT disturb classes by bringing items to the classroom.
