Celebrating Native American Heritage Month
What is Native American Heritage Month?
Native American Heritage Month is celebrated every November to honor and recognize the history, culture, traditions, and contributions of Native American and Indigenous people. It is a time to learn about their rich heritage, celebrate their accomplishments, and recognize the important role they have played in shaping our country's history. This month also reminds us to respect their cultures, acknowledge the challenges they have faced, and appreciate the traditions, languages, and knowledge they continue to share with future generations.
Why It Matters to Our Community
Native American Heritage Month matters to our community because it helps bring awareness to Native Americans and Indigenous people and how they helped shape our country and the path before us. It also teaches us to respect their culture and acknowledge their hardships, which gives us the ability to do it to everyone else.
