Summer Cooking Fun at Assumption!

This summer, the Assumption kitchen was filled with some very enthusiastic Junior Chefs! Students in grades K–4 rolled up their sleeves for two hands-on Cook Like Mom classes: an Italian Pizza Party and a Taco Fiesta.

Our Junior Chefs learned kitchen safety and basic cooking skills, prepared their own food, tried new things, worked alongside friends, and got creative with food-themed arts and crafts along the way. From cooking and crafting to enjoying the dishes they made themselves, each three-hour session was designed to keep little chefs learning, creating and having fun.

And the fun didn't necessarily stop when class ended! Each student got to take home a recipe book and I received that kids left with a newfound curiosity about the kitchen and even continued to cook and clean at home!

Each session ended with students receiving their official Junior Chef certificates and one important reminder: You can do anything you set your mind to.

Thank you to all of the families who participated in our first summer cooking classes. We loved cooking with you and hope to see our Junior Chefs back in the kitchen again soon!

Warmly,
Alessandra
