As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, the Diocese of Oakland is committed to ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for every student. In accordance with California Senate Bill 848 (the Safe Learning Environments Act), updated requirements are now in place for all school volunteers.
To volunteer with children, adults must complete:

Live Scan fingerprint clearance in Virtus

Annual safe environment and mandated reporter training

A negative TB test or risk assessment questionnaire
