On March 10, 2026, students partook in Assumption’s school gym to learn about countries from all over the world. In an interview, Mr. Del Castillo, the 6th-grade homeroom teacher, informs us that the 7th-grade students had about a month and a half to work on their presentations and posters.
Mr. Del Castillo said, “I think they connected well. A lot of them did countries that they are a part of or interested in. It was also a great way for not only the 7th graders, but for all the other students and teachers to be able to learn about other cultures and countries.” He believes that students enjoyed it and had an opportunity to learn about different cultures.
Jayla B., a 6th-grade student, agrees, saying, “I learned so much about the culture and customs.” Jayla also enjoyed the performances and thought it was interesting to see different places, dances, songs, and instruments. She felt very connected to the presentation aspect because they were able to ask questions to understand clearly.
Overall, International Day here at Assumption School was a success, and students got to learn new information about countries they are not familiar with.
