The Assumption School basketball team was coached by Tyshawn Jackson, a parent and coach of the team. His son, Major J., was a strong leader and one of the best players on the team. Major said that after winning the championship, he was feeling very good. They knew they were going to win because their biggest rival—whom they beat in the regular season and who was the second-best team—had already been knocked out.
Dallas R. “Dallas, what were you thinking coming into the championship?” “I was feeling really nervous and kinda scared, but I was happy that our rival lost in the semifinals.”
“When winning the championship, what were the emotions going through your head?” “I was feeling really happy because it was a pretty close game. In the regular season we beat them, and in the end, we pulled through and won.”
“The final question: Do you like playing up on the 6th-grade team?” “Yes, because the 6th-grade team is a lot better and more organized.” “Ok, thank you.”
Carmelo C. “So Carmelo, what was it like coming into the championship game?” “I was nervous because I really wanted to win, so I was training for a while. But once I got in the game, I locked in and we came out with the victory.”
“Ok, ok. After winning the championship, what was going through your head?” “I knew we were going to win because we were up by 20, but it felt really good to win because we lost last year. It kinda felt like redemption.”
Joel P. New star Joel P. joined the team this year. He said that he thought everyone on the team was very nice, the team was very organized, and everyone welcomed him. He added that he thinks this team is going to be very good for the next two years!

Professional Interviewing: Crafting open-ended questions and conducting respectful campus interviews.
-
The Inverted Pyramid: Structuring news articles with engaging headlines and factual openings.
