To celebrate Diverse Learners Day, our 8th-grade students stepped into leadership roles, guiding a multi-grade group of TK through 7th graders through the powerful empathy activity, "Every Brain Has a Story."
The activity, which explores the unique ways all students learn, was a good activity. Thanks to the dedicated preparation with Mrs. Bass, our 8th-grade leaders demonstrated clear leadership and growth as they facilitated complex ideas about learning differences and community responsibility. The younger students responded well, gaining a glimpse into the concept that being "fair" means everyone gets what they need to succeed, not that everyone gets the exact same thing.
This initiative highlighted the spirit of our school community, fostering understanding and patience among students and reminding us all that when we work together, we build a learning environment where every brain has a chance to thrive.
