The San Leandro Cherry Festival

Celebrating Our Community Tradition

The Cherry Festival is a long-standing community tradition celebrating San Leandro's past, present, and future. The first festival was held on June 5, 1909, when cherry production was so great that San Leandro was dubbed “The Cherry City.”

This fun-filled day for the whole family kicks off bright and early at 10 AM with a parade. The route starts at the San Leandro BART station, runs less than 1/2 a mile, and ends in the Main Branch San Leandro parking lot.

Assumption School will have a truck-pulled float packed with our students while parents, family, and friends parade behind. After you join Assumption School, Assumption CYO, and Assumption Parish in the parade, please stop by to say hi to familiar faces at our booth! We will be at the festival from 11 AM to 6 PM.
