Catholic Schools Week - Socially Responsible Citizens in 4th Grade

Our fourth graders recently took part in a meaningful service project that combined kindness, reflection, and gratitude. During a dedicated class block, students created care packages for service members, each filled with thoughtful letters, drawings, snacks, hygienic supplies, and activities.

Students put great care into writing their letters. They introduced themselves using their first names, shared things they enjoy, and reflected on what they appreciate most about living in the United States. Many letters expressed heartfelt thanks for the sacrifices made by service members and their families. To close, students included positive affirmations and inspiring quotes, hoping to offer encouragement during challenging moments.

This project was made possible through collaboration and generosity—flat rate boxes were picked up from the post office, and families and teachers donated items to fill each box.

Through this experience, our fourth graders lived out what it means to be socially responsible citizens, using their words and actions to show appreciation and support for others.
