Seventh graders recently spent a sunny afternoon planting more than just seeds—they planted connections. During a Buddy activity, our 7th-grade students partnered with their TK buddies to learn about planting fruits and vegetables as a way to help provide food for the community. Together, they discussed why growing food matters and then got their hands dirty by planting seeds in starter pots.
The day was especially meaningful as three new TK students had the opportunity to bond with their seventh-grade buddies, building friendships and a sense of belonging right away. Laughter, teamwork, and curiosity filled the space as students worked side by side in the sunshine.
One seventh grader shared, “I liked spending time with our TK buddies. I can’t wait to see the seeds start to grow.”
This Buddy experience beautifully reflected our commitment to being socially responsible citizens and lifelong learners—caring for one another while caring for our community. We look forward to watching both the plants and these friendships continue to grow!
