This month, our 7th graders have been busy in the "Art Cart" studio turning black paper and glue into radiant works of art. To honor our Virtue of the Month, Gratitude, students were challenged to create a "stained glass" window design centered around a symbol of something they are thankful for.
The process required patience and precision. Students first drew their designs in pencil and traced them with liquid glue to create the raised "leading" found in traditional windows. In the second stage, they used chalk pastels to fill the panes with color. By blending the chalk against the black background, the students achieved a glowing, luminous effect. These beautiful pieces serve as a visual reminder to look for the light and color in our everyday lives.
