Standing Proud at the San Leandro Cherry Parade

What a spectacular showing for our school community at this year's San Leandro Cherry Parade! Walking alongside our parish family, our students, cheerleaders, and CYO athletes brought incredible energy, high spirits, and bright smiles to the parade route, making all of us so proud to celebrate Assumption’s 75th Anniversary with the wider San Leandro community.

A project of this scale takes an incredible amount of coordination, and we owe a massive shout-out to Liz Di Giacomo and her fantastic team. Liz organized our beautiful school float and ensured our presence in the parade was truly unforgettable. We are also deeply grateful to our Principal, Lana Rocheford, for her unwavering support and dedication to making events like this a success for our kids, and to Father John for his continuous leadership and encouragement.

It was a true team effort across our entire community. We extend our warmest thanks to the dedicated parents and alumni who cheered us on, as well as the St. Joseph Ministry and the Knights of Columbus for carefully carrying the beautiful Statue of Our Lady of Fatima. Our students were also blessed to hand out hundreds of handmade rosaries and prayer cards, thanks to the wonderful efforts of the Rosary Makers and Divine Mercy Ministries. At Assumption, our school and parish are always united as one big family, and seeing our community show up in such a major way was the perfect definition of school pride!
