The 6th Grade Girls basketball team's past week and a half has been a whirlwind. After winning two games to secure the Metro League Championship, the team began their road to the Diocesan Playoff. They secured two solid victories against St. Philip Neri of Alameda and St. Joseph's of Fremont this weekend before facing off against St. Leo's in the finals last night. St. Leo's had knocked Assumption out of the Diocese Playoffs in the semi-finals both in 4th and 5th grade, but this time they met in the finals and Assumption put together a decisive 41-32 win!
The 6th grade team brings home the first Diocesan Championship in 11 years for Assumption girls basketball. The gym was rocking with fans and Assumption spirit! Most importantly, the girls demonstrated positive sportsmanship on and off the Court. Great job, Trojans!!!
