The Cherry Festival is a long-standing community tradition celebrating San Leandro's past, present, and future. The first festival was held on June 5, 1909, when cherry production was so great that San Leandro got dubbed “The Cherry City.” This fun-filled day for the whole family kicks off bright and early at 10 am with a parade that starts at the San Leandro BART station.
If your child would like to ride in the Assumption float, please note you will have to arrive that morning at 9:15 am. The parade runs less than 1/2 a mile and ends at the main branch San Leandro library parking lot. Assumption School will have a truck pulled gorgeous float packed with our beautiful students while parents, family, and friends parade behind.
After you join Assumption School, Assumption CYO, and Assumption Parish in the parade, please stop by to say hi to familiar faces at our booth that will be at the festival that goes from 11 am to 6 pm.
This is a totally free event where we get to gather as a whole community and show our pride for all things Assumption. It's also a joy filled way to begin wrapping up our school year. We hope to see you there!
More info and a Sign Up Genius will be coming soon.
