Campus Ministry Sale for Trevor Project includes all

Two weeks ago on September 15, the Assumption School Campus Ministry team held an Otter Pop fundraiser to support the Trevor Project: a suicide prevention organization that helps LGBTQ+ youth in times of need. The sale took place during the students’ lunch hours, and grades TK through 8th were all excited to line up and enjoy a frozen treat.

Otter Pops were priced at two for a dollar, and students enjoyed a variety of classic Otter Pop flavors. During lunch, students who brought money lined up at the sale table to get their pops. Those who did not bring money did not miss out either: students were given a free otter pop regardless.

Not only were the Otter Pops a fun frozen treat for students to enjoy after a day of hard work, they supported a good and honorable cause. The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ+ youth, brings about change by starting protests, passing legislation, and maintaining 24 hour hotlines.

At the end of the day, the Campus Ministry team was happy to see that the sale had been a success. From 241 students attending Assumption, the profit of the sale was $320.00. Thanks to the students who supported the sale and who donated to the Trevor Project, Assumption School is proud to have made a difference in the lives of those who deserve and need the support.
