SAVE THE DATE! On Saturday, October 16th at 9:00 A.M., join Assumption School as we support The American Cancer Society and Team Marnelle in the annual Breast Cancer Walk. All ages are welcome! Stay tuned! More details will be coming soon. In the meantime, if you have questions, please contact Mrs. Martin ([email protected]). Donations are welcome! Checks can be made directly to The American Cancer Society and dropped off in the school office.
Marnelle Ducey was a beloved teacher at Assumption who sadly she passed away in December 2005 after a 6 year battle with this terrible disease. Since then, Assumption School has raised money and walked in her honor with her husband, Denis Ducey. We proudly continue this tradition even without the official walk. See below to learn more about our commitment to fight breast cancer.
This year we will walk at the San Leandro Marina in her honor and to raise funds for The American Cancer Society.
Dear family and Friends,
I am coming to you again this year to ask for your support with the Making Strides Against Breast Walk. This is my 16th year to sponsor a team in the Strides Walk following Marnelle's last walk in 2005. Marnelle was taken from us far too soon by this killing disease. If Marnelle could walk courageously and bravely just two short months before she died, then the least I can do is to follow in her footsteps.
Click on the link below to get to my page, and if you can, make a donation. Also, please feel free to forward this link to your friends. Tell them your story in facing the scourge of cancer. Great strides have been made already, and more will come.
Love,
Denis Ducey
