Assumption students go to the county for the science fair!

Assumption School was represented by astounding students at the 2021 Alameda County Science and Engineering Fair. We would like to recognize Sean C. ('21) and Sofia P. ('21) for submitting their research "Do different brands of disinfecting wipes do what they say?" where they tested different disinfecting wipes and see if they do kill to discover which brand of wipes would kill the most bacteria. This project was inspired by the current pandemic and if our efforts to disinfect surfaces are effective.

Another incredible student who participated was Braelynn L. ('22). Her science fair project investigated the Effects of Music in Plant Growth. She tested three different plants; one did not receive any musical attention, while another was played classical music, and the 3rd plant was played rock music. Her research was inspired by her love of plants and science.

We would also like to recognize the outstanding efforts of Keira K. ('22). She also went above and beyond to submit her science fair research to the county fair. Keira's project was inspired by her own and her brother's personal experiences of having a stained mouth from drinking juice from a powder mix. This real world connection encouraged her to experiment if sugar levels affect the stains that juice can leave behind.

Congratulations to these amazing students! You all represented Assumption School well and we are incredibly proud of you!
