Over the past twenty years, we feel a perfect blend of the academic and developmental components essential to an excellent Catholic Kindergarten program has been achieved. Our goals are to educate the whole child, spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally, and to make this first year of formal education a joyful, successful experience. We realize that Kindergarten is the most important year of a child’s education, for it is during this time a self-concept as a learner is formed. It’s important that the activities presented in this first year be age-appropriate and be ones at which the child will be successful. Our Kindergarten activities are planned to respect individuality, to increase motor skills, to encourage creative thinking and to promote the ability to cooperate with others.
Kindergarten is not just boot camp for first grade. It has its own unique curriculum containing some of the most important life skills our little ones will carry throughout their life times, e.g., how to make a friend, how to settle a conflict, how to sustain attention and see a task to completion.
On the academic side, besides the core subjects of religion, language arts, math, and social studies, the students also have classes in Spanish, computer, science, music, P.E., and motor skills with teachers specializing in these areas. We are also blessed with an experienced full-time classroom assistant to ensure additional individual attention. Our classroom is well equipped with manipulatives and learning aids to enrich our program. We have our own separate outside play area. We welcome you to visit us soon.
